Dr. Simone Walton founder and visionary behind Core Issues, is an international strategist and social worker by education and training.
Dr. Walton is the founder and visionary behind Core Issues, which is dedicated to working with communities, organizations, and individuals to develop applied solutions to large scale social challenges affecting vulnerable and marginalized populations.
Her professional experience includes working within international humanitarian organizations with a focus on accompanying vulnerable and marginalized populations as both a clinical practitioner as well as on the macro level with oversight of risk mitigation, compliance, diversity, inclusion and program development.
Dr. Walton is passionate about systems and the people who function in them. Simone has worked in the international humanitarian sector, legal arena and lived overseas. She is a wife, a mother, a caregiver and a daughter of immigrants.
Dr. Walton is an alumna of the University of Southern California where she received her advanced practice Doctor of Social work degree. She is also an alumna of Boston College (Master of Social Work), Duke University, and Howard University.
